Absolutely wonderful vintage 1940’s Saks of Fifth Avenue midnight blue velvet trouser suit set. A little bit history about Saks of Fifth Avenue it was a joint venture between two of the largest retail establishments in New York Saks & Co and Gimbels. The store was opened in 1924.
This incredible set has the most beautiful stitch work detailing on the velvet which almost looks like fireworks over the jacket. The jacket also has the most beautiful big circle fluted buttons which really make the piece pop. The set is just dreamy with the palazzo style trousers.
The trousers have hook and eye opening on each side and press stud and the jacket has button opening and is lined.
