Scarlet Rage Vintage Does Viva Las Vegas
So we at Scarlet Rage Vintage have been SUPER busy!! So apologies for our late blog post..But we’ve managed to get the time finally and sit down and put fingers to keyboard and show you our wonderful adventures to Viva Las Vegas and to Los Angeles.
Our first night in Las Vegas team SRV which included Grace, myself and Nikki went to legendary Franks Tikki lounge. It was wonderful start to our holiday. The interior and the cocktails were magnificent. We had to take some souvenir cups home with us.
On the left Nikki wearing novelty print 1940’s dress from SRV, Myself wearing 1940’s beach boys pake mu ofcourse from SRV & Grace wearing her 1940’s Hawaiian print sarong dress.
Then thursday night we headed to The New Orleans hotel which is the base of where Viva Las Vegas. It was a wonderful night as I got to meet the wonderful Pink Collar Life Girls Ashlyn & Tara. They are probably the most sweet and lovely ladies I’ve ever met. Such a pleasure.
The beautiful Pink Collar Life girls & myself (I’m wearing 1950’s sequin dress ofcourse from SRV)
I also got to bump into and have a lovely little catch up with the beauty that is Doris Mayday.
Also whilst browsing the vintage rails – even when I’m away on holiday I can’t help looking at vintage it’s a real habit. I bumped into one of the best vintage couples on social media none other then Laurence & Sylvain of Lost in the 1950’s.
On friday night due to us being super busy going to places like Sephora (that is a girls DREAM) and other little stops including The Pink Taco at The Hard Rock Hotel (cannot recommend that place enough for good mexican food). We also ventured to the Neon Museum which we chose to go to at night which was great to see some of the signs lit up. Our evening was spent at The Golden Tiki where we had THE BEST cocktails and socked in the atmosphere then went to THE BEST Korean restaurant that’s open 24 hours and just a couple of doors up from the tiki bar.
Some Prince memorabilia at the Hard Rock Hotel.
A 1950’s Motel Sign at the Neon Museum isn’t it great I want this in my house.
Me wearing my 1940’s Hawaiian sarong style dress with my bakelite bangles. I have to say this is one of my favorite dresses.
Here is the beautiful Nikki & Grace both wearing 1950’s dresses from Scarlet Rage Vintage.
Saturday day time was the famous Car Show, we’re we got to have a good time taking a jive class and then we went to meet the burlesque legend herself none other then Dita Von Teese.
Here is the beautiful past winner of Viva Las Vegas Miss Victory Violet (Ella) doesn’t she look beautiful.
Don’t think we need to say who this beauty is but incase you don’t know this is burlesque performer and QUEEN of vintage Dita Von Teese. We had a lovely conversation about people we knew and she liked my outfit which was I’ll take to my grave that she approved.
We had a great time walking around all the vintage cars and ofcourse posing, myself and Grace and our dear friend Lucy (I’ll show a photo of her later in the blog) were filmed for a Japanese tv show so if you’re in Japan and you see us please do let us know. Nikki is wearing a 1950’s skirt from SRV.
Now lets get to the glamorous saturday night, oh boy was this a great night we got to take a turn on the dance floor to some amazing big bands and stroll the night away to the wee hours of the morning.
Here we are wearing our Saturday night fineries. You may tell we like SEQUINS ALOT (my dress is from SRV)!! P.S we love a good toilet selfie it’s where all the gossip happens.
I am so glad that I got the courage to walk up to this lady – who you may know as THE youtuber Miss Cherry Doll Face, she was the most welcoming lady ever and hopefully I will be able to take her around London when she’s next over.
So sunday we left early, as we decided to head to LA for our next adventure. Which included watching my favorite drag queens and go to Universal Studios and meet some old and new friends.
We had a lovely evening at Mickey’s. We watched Rupauls Drag Race episode and stuck around to watch some of my favorite drag queens perform like Raven who LOOKED STUNNING!!
Then came on scottish born Morgan McMichaels who lip synced the HOUSE DOWN!! It was so lovely to meet as well after the show. I will be making sure team SRV go see her when she’s next in London.
We went to the Maxfactor museum and got to see all the memorabilia from behind the scenes of films.
Had to visit everyones childhood which is KrustyLand of the simpsons at Universal Studios.
We also popped into Besame store in Burbank, which was amazing to see. The visual merchandising and store layout was simply beautifully done.
If you’re ever in LA you must visit Olvera Street, full of Mexican stores and restaurants. I spotted this amazing four piece set that I wanted to take home with me so badly.
So lets end this LONG blog (sorry) with this photo of myself with Lucie Luella who did my hair for saturday night. Isn’t she just babe!! If you ever need a vintage hairdresser we all at SRV cannot recommend her enough. Plus she’s just about open up her own salon in Manchester..Which guess what..Scarlet Rage Vintage will be doing another venture to Manchester to do a pop up evening!! SURPRISE..There will also be another announcement in regards to this event VERY SOON!!
